The Edutour has evolved from the successful SPKU program. The founder, Dr. Yi Li, graduated from Peking University with a B.A. and a MasterТs degree in 1985, after studying there for seven years. He is said to have known the campus of Peking University as well as the back of his hand.
Since 1999, Dr. Li, together with several other Peking University alumni who are based in North America, started to lead students to China on a short-term travel-study program, hosted by Peking University. The program stands itself out among the many similar programs in that we opt to keep the size of the class small so that we would be able to maintain personal contacts with our students. The program is individualized to meet the unique needs of the participants. Almost a decade has gone by since then, yet many previous students stay in touch with the program leaders personally. Apparently, the experience that the student had is memorable.
In this page you can review the four major components that make up the whole program: Chinese language class, seminars, local tours, and the cross-country trip. The first three are what we call the "S program", and the last one is what we call the "T Program."
